Pyrant are small, six-legged insectoid Pokémon that resemble short, stocky red ants. Their antennae are bright orange and are capable of glowing brightly, especially when Pyrant breathes fire.
Pyrant has been noted by some Pokémon researchers for its similarity to Trapinch. This has led some to postulate that Pyrant and Trapinch may share a common evolutionary ancestor.
