Biology

Physiology

Evolution has once again brought a large increase in size for this Pokémon. Pandurai is now extremely physically imposing, and it relies more than ever on its voracious appetitie for bamboo to keep itself going.

On Pandurai's back grows a thicket of bamboo-like growths made of specialized hairs. These growths break away easily at the base, allowing Pandurai to use them as weapons. In general, the thicker the shoots, the more healthy the specimen. On its wrists, Pandurai has developed thick bracers made of the same material that it uses for defene and parries when fighting another of its own species.

Gender Differences

Pandurai are all completely solitary creatures, only meeting to mate. Male Pandurai maintain a huge territory in the jungle, not tolerating any other males that enter it. Females are the sole caretakers for their young, and will defend their babies with massive ferocity.

Behavior

Pandurai are designed for combat. They use the bamboo shoots on their backs ase swords or staves in combat. In the wild, female Pandurai often fight predators to keep them away from their young. Male Pandurai often scrap over territory, with the battles sometimes lasting days.

Pandurai naturally yearn for combat, making them very enthusiastic battlers. Females will usually be fiercely protective of their trainer and their teammates, to the point that they can be very hard to introduce to new people. Males generally like to feel like the powerhouse of a team, and have been known to challenge other Pokémon in their teams to scrimmages to assert dominance.
